Miss Maple's turn to shine with her first pass in K9 Noseworks - she has been training for only a short time but she is just amazing at this great sport just made for a Lagotto.
Maple undertook her first test an ORT in Birch yesterday and took only 30 seconds (she is allowed 3 minutes to find it) to tell her owner she had found it. Maple at nearly 18 months is the 5th Ottogal puppy to be successful at this sport. Thanks Cherie and Gordon for all you do for this lovely girl.
Jelly is Jumping for Joy this week as we enter our pictures for the Ozgottos Calendar - our yearly production which showcases the Lagotto from all around Australia. Jelly is looking forward to starting Agility - can you tell??
We have just updated our Puppy Page with some week one video and pictures.
New litter has arrived - Ch Ottogal Anzac Poppy and Ch Lagottostar Arrakis RA have delivered a litter of 4 beautiful puppies - "The Poppets" - have a look at their puppy page for updates and follow their growth.
Ottogal Sweet Dreams - Jelly takes out 3rd place at her first Rally-O Trial with a score of 98/100 what a little stunner - so proud our girl.

All pups have headed home and are now settling into their new homes. the Irish Tans were a beautiful surprise of colours with the tan colour gene coming through in two of our Roan pups as well as our beautiful Brown and Tan girl OttogaL Baileys Irish Tan. It will be very interesting to see what Arrakis and Poppy will produce for us in our upcoming litter. This tan gene should look very pretty with Poppy's lovely white and orange coat.

Puppies are powering on and Jelly and Bella and Tali are now K9 Nosework dogs - the girls have enjoyed their new sport and showing great promise. we have three of the girls and our boy Trim from our Sweet/Dream litters all doing noseworks and they are really doing well. I will seek permission to show some of their work on our web site. So many things you can do with these dogs - they love to work and are so easy to train. Follow our puppy page to see how the pups are progressing.
Our Luck of the Irish litter with Sunny and Arrakis was born on St Patricks Day - couldn't get more Irish on that. 6 beautiful puppies - 2 girls and 4 boys arrived at night time - was a hot day and didn't get much cooler in the evening but thankfully we had Sunny all set up to go in the aircon.
you will find photos on our puppy page for Sunny and Arrakis.

This year we have a lot planned for OttogaL. We have had some wonderful times with the dogs over the last 4 years but we have not kept the web sire up to date so we will remedy this in 2018 and keep our web and News up to date.
Well just as we would expect from Trix she was bang on time with her litter. On Friday afternoon from 4.10pm until 6.05pm she delivered us 4 beautiful puppies. All were delivered here at home with a nice easy birth and they are just thriving. Trix for a first time mum is just a natural and all we have to do is look after her - she takes care of everything else to do with the pups.
You will find photos of our pups on our puppies page.
To say we are thrilled with the litter is an understatement. We have planned this litter for a very long time - only waiting for the right two dogs to give us what we wanted to breed. Its all about timing and this litter has been timed to perfection.
We will add a blog page to the site so we can tell you the full story of the development of our breeding program and the culmination in the Raduno Litter.
Puppies due at OttogaL on the 24th October 2014. Little Trix has gone from the photo below to looking like this. Sorry for not keeping up to date with the news but with plenty to talk about in the coming weeks and lots of photos maybe it wont be two years!!
Early socialisation is a must for the Lagotto and in fact any breed of dog will benefit from early interaction with all sorts of people and dog situations. Trix has had all her needles so she is fine to run around and meet and greet.
Well Trix is with us in Gosford and she is just a wonderful puppy and a joy to have around the house, well for us anyway the older dogs are still deciding on that one!! We will start a blog of what we are up to with Trix which might be of interest to new puppy owners for some ideas and what to do and what not to do. As with any baby it is interesting to see what works and doesn't. You will see her photos on her page. At the moment her favourite toy is an iCube - great little soft cube filled with 4 soft squeeky balls which they have to try and get out and then play with - it keeps her amused for a while - and makes her think.
We have a new family member and she will be our foundation bitch for the kennel - yes a couple of years away but worth waiting for. Lagottostar Bellatrix (Trix) comes to us from our friends Elizabeth and Joachim Lange in Port Elliot SA where she started life on an idillic farm with her siblings and mum and dad. She is from the first litter out of Elizabeth's beautiful import Lapinlumon Naldo an exquisite dog both in conformation and temperament. Trix was selected for her conformation and lovely nature, she has tested Je clear and coming from health tested parents as she has we are hoping her hip scores will be good to - she will be tested prior to breeding of course. Trix will also follow in the footsteps of the rest of the family and learn dog sports and obedience - she will be shown in NSW and interstate and I am sure will please with her winning ways. She will arrive with us next month so keep a look out for her in the gallery pages where we will update her photos regularly.
Lagottostar Bellatrix - Trix
Wet wild and windy was the order of the day at Erskine Park - but it was a great day - Dogs NSW put on a great day with lots of breed exhibit stalls and a parade of breeds, Flyball expo, Rally-O demos and lots of wonderful stalls to buy lovely food and toys for your dog. All in all despite the weather if was a great day. We met some lovely people very interested in the breed and it was our pleasure to introduce our lovely dogs who represented the breed well. Arrakis went Best of Breed, Vinne Neuter of Breed and Gia Neuter Bitch.
Willie gets his final pass in Rally-O for his RN title - what a great sport even for the older members of our doggie family - well done Willie
What a great time we had at Tailwaggers Rainforest Retreat - there were 17 lagotti with their owners and we did some grooming seminars, tracking, Rally- O,Dances with Dogs and obedience work. BBQ on the Saturday night and a Trivia Quiz - what a great weekend in the lovely late Autumn weather of Northern NSW. You will find some video links on our Home page. The dam was a great success for all the dogs and the fabulous beaches were a treat. Why don't you think about joining Ozgottos and come with us for next years RadunOz. You will find a link to join on our Home page.
Second Rally qually for Willie and a great day at Port Stephens, So looking forward to Camp Tailwaggers RadunOz with the members of Ozgottos - have a look at the link on our front page to find out more about them - what a great source of information and Lagotto Community. Will post a separate page for RadunOz details and pictures when I get back.
Rain Rain go away 22.04.2012.
What terrible weather we have been having in NSW and we had the floors flooded, so no Canberra Shows for us - time to clip back the dogs and get ready for our May RadunOz with all our Ozgotto friends from all over Oz. Will make sure we take lots of photos to let you see all the Lagotti having great fun.
We had a wonderful day at Sydney Royal with lots of Lagotto Romagnolo, it was lovley to see such a large entry and the crowds as usual were just blown away with the looks of the dogs.
Arrakis, is always a big hit and is up on his crate for most of the day to meet and greet - the children just love the look of the teddy bear face and his gentle nature makes him a wonderful advertisement for the Lagotto.
